Oh What a Web...
While on location in a Montréal alley way photographing a client, I stumbled upon this spider web shining and reflecting the evening sun rays. An image popped in my head of what this would look like captured in a photograph. I shot it and I was pleased. Something so simple can have such beauty.

Manhattan End
One of my favorite bridges in New York City would be the Art Deco influenced designed Manhattan Bridge. So many hidden treasures are incorporated in this lovely East River Crossing. I took this beautiful photo during one of my city walks. Graffiti Blues
An evening walk during the "blue-hour", you know that magical hour after the sunsets, the sky takes on those lovely shades of blue. I walked across the Manhattan Bridge located in New York City with my camera in hand as usual. The bright colors of the graffiti and the blue background of the bridge made a beautiful scene for a still portrait. City Dusk and Light
It's a beautiful evening as dusk transitions into night. The city lights began to shine across the metropolitan cityscape. An intentional slowing of my shutter speed on my camera created glowing streaks along the traffic-ways. The city appears almost magical. Geometry Above
"Geometry Above" Photographed by Ron Foster
Look up while standing in the rotunda of the architectural marvel of the Fulton Hub Station. Located in Lower Manhattan in New York City, it is absolutely beautiful. The geometric shapes, metal and glass accompanied by the shadows made for a lovely photographic moment. Cape Town Reflections
I was sailing back to the Cape Town Marina from Robben Island. The waters were rough, the boat was bobbing up and down; but this did not stop me from getting this beautiful shot of the city's mountainous skyline. These soaring mountains provide life to this incredible African city.

African Sunset
"African Sunset" Photographed by Ron Foster
It was my first evening on assignment in the South African bush. My ranger took me to this beautiful hill top. Surrounded by elephants feasting on the vegetation, we photographed and watched this beautiful scene. A Year Already...
"Single Tree on a Dry Lake Bed" Photographed by Ron Foster Sossusvlei, Namibia, Africa
A year ago this month, I handed in my resignation to my employer, got on a plane and pursued my dream. I landed in Johannesburg, South Africa to begin the adventure of a lifetime. My goal was to photograph the people, places, and wildlife of the southern region of Africa as well as the architecture of the Middle East. The experiences I had were priceless and the engagements I had with the diverse people in this region were immeasurable. Most of all, I had the chance to look deep within myself and discover a depth of faith I did not know I had. My mission was accomplished, and I am blessed for doing so.
“I am writing with the hopes of encouraging someone to believe”
I am not much of a writer and neither am I one to share my personal life in the public arena, but sometimes you have to just "get over yourself". I am writing with the hopes of encouraging someone to believe. There is an explainable power that comes with living a life of "faith over fear". Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it's an easy life. Quite the contrary as life is full of ups and downs but at the end of the day, it's a life of resting in the knowledge that every care will work itself out.
"The Resting Place" Photographed by Ron Foster Cape Town, South Africa, Africa
The first leg of the trip began with traveling by plane to South Africa and then to Namibia. My trip for the most part, was to be spent driving through Namibia, then Botswana and Zimbabwe. Along the way, I stopped in many towns and villages. I observed the daily routines and many traditions practiced by the locals. I witnessed the diversity of the changing terrains, from the arid deserts in Namibia to the tropical weather in Zimbabwe. I also crossed paths with the wildlife along the roadways. There were no deer "x-ing" signs here, but I did see the occasional elephant "x-ing" sign. My first sighting of these signs reminded me that I was in the heart of the southern region of Africa. Not too soon after there they were, a parade of elephants on the move crossing the roadway in Botswana. My dream had become my reality!
"Over the Rainbow" Photographed by Ron Foster Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Africa
In Namibia I witnessed some of the oldest and most unique landscapes on the planet. I climbed and photographed one of the largest dunes in the world appropriately named "Big Daddy". I visited an automobile graveyard in Sossusvlei in the middle of the desert. I traveled along the shores of Sandwich Bay, where the bright tall sand dunes fell into the Atlantic Ocean.
In Zimbabwe I hiked, photographed and took in the beauty of the great Victoria Falls and then crossed over into the Zambian territory to converse with the local people. I enjoyed photographing them as they carried on doing their daily routines.
After returning back to Namibia, I flew to Doha and Dubai, two beautiful cities in the Middle East. There I discovered the most amazing architecture, skyscrapers soaring into the skies; some were the largest in the world.

"Looking Forward at the Cross-way" Photographed by Ron Foster Okavango Delta, Botswana, Africa
I have now been home almost nine months now, after traveling eight countries and taking thousands of photographs. I finally have the opportunity to share the stories from these and my other photographic journeys. This blog is a response to many of my Instagram and Facebook followers who have requested the stories behind the photos. I am humble that anyone would care, and will attempt to do this blog justice by doing so.
