Licking StareThe fastest land mammal on earth, the cheetah. This little guy is so beautiful. There is something that draws me into the cheetah's eyes. I had the chance to pet him and I was shocked that the fur was far from soft. It felt like the bristle on a brush. This coarse fur helps the cheetah to move through the air with speed.
Elephant Play and SplashStories Behind the Photos: Elephant Play and Splash You can't see this scene in a zoo...As you all know, well those that have been following me, I love elephants. They are amazing creatures. I shoot these photo while staying at an elephant rescue an orphanage in the northwestern part of South Africa. I can not wait to tell you the story behind this series of photos today at noon eastern standard time on Instagram @ronlouisphotos
In the bush, in my opinion, the Zebra is the most exotic of the mammals. The stripes and their smile give me a feeling of delightful. Do you know stripes on Zebras are like fingerprints on humans? Each pattern is unique to the individual Zebra. It is also how the young identify their moms for nursing.
Seeking to AchieveWhat are you #seeking to accomplish this week? What are you #committed to #achieving? This #cheetah will let nothing get in her way. For her, there is a time for #speed, but at this moment it is time for #patience and a #stealthy pace. The goal is to #accomplish the #objective.
After the Mud BathI loved watching these elephants wrestling and playing in the muddy waters. The best part was watching them give themselves a mud bath. The mud keeps them cool in the heat of the day. What keeps you cool while in the heat of the day?
He is No Match against NatureA hot day in the bush and every creature there had found a place in the shade to rest. The heat could be felt on all exposed skin from the wind blowing as we drove to this location in the game reserve. The lion in all his majesty and strength was in no way a match to fight against the scorching weather.
It Takes a VillageThese adult elephants are the surrogates for this young orphan. They will raise and give this little one all the love, education, training he or she needs.
Together TouchTogether these two stand after a mud bath.
A Cooling MoveElephants make use of muddy water to keep themselves cool.
